Floki, a meme coin project on Binance Smart Chain, has collaborated with Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization, to build a school in Ghana. The project, which was approved by the Floki DAO on January 28, will burn at least 4.97 trillion FLOKI tokens.
The school building project includes six classroom blocks, with one of those blocks fully built as a computer lab. This initiative is part of Floki’s commitment to foster education and impact people’s lives. The project hopes to leverage this initiative to enhance crypto and metaverse education to boost their adoption.
Apart from Ghana, Floki has also committed to building similar schools in Laos and Guatemala. The charity work of Floki is one of its three pillars, according to the project’s website. The meme coin project has pledged to build state-of-the-art schools in countries that need it the most.
Floki has also previously commissioned a similar project in Nigeria in collaboration with the Tabitha Cumi Foundation, an NGO backed by the United Nations and the Embassy of Japan. The Ghanian school built through the partnership with Pencils of Promise was recently inaugurated and pictures and videos of the event will soon be released.
Floki’s school building projects are a testament to the potential of blockchain technology when used for good. Through its charitable initiatives, Floki aims to make a positive impact on the world and bring people together.
