Troop 54 is
always ready to welcome new scouts To join the
Boy Scouts, a boy
needs to
- have completed the fifth grade, or have earned the Arrow of Light award as a Cub Scout, or
- be between 11 and 17 hears old, AND
- like being a part of an organization where he can learn, grow, lead and have fun with his fellow scouts.
You do not need to have
been a Cub Scout.
Contact us and arrange to come to any of our regular Monday night meetings (we believe that our boys are our best spokesmen for the troop). You will have an opportunity to observe and participate in our activities and see how our more experienced Scouts work with younger boys. Talk to our Senior Patrol Leader or any of our other boy leaders about how they organize and run the program.
Our adult leadership is available to talk with your parents to explain our program, activities and the purposes of Scouting. If you like what you see, let the Scoutmaster or one of his Assistants know and they will help you complete an application form with your parents or guardians and let you know the current registration fees.
We hope you are interested in Troop 54. Come and join us!

![]() |
1. The three
points
of the trefoil stand for the three parts of the Scout Oath.
2. The shape
of the Scout badge means that a Scout can point the right way in life
as truly as does a compass in the field.
3. There are two stars on the
badge. They symbolize truth and knowledge.
4. The
eagle and shield
stand for freedom and a Scout's readiness to defend that freedom.
5. The scroll
bearing the Scout motto is turned up at the ends as a reminder that a
Scout smiles as he does his duty.
6. The knot at the bottom of the scroll serves as a reminder of the Scout slogan, Do a Good Turn Daily. |
